Track and Field Coaches

                                   Girls and Boys Head Coach: Mr. Joel Dinger

Mr. Dinger joined the Godwin Governors staff during the 2001-2002 school year as a sixth grade math and language arts teacher.  He currently teaches 6th grade social studies and is both the girls’ and boys’ Head Track coach.  Mr. Dinger is a native of Erie, Pennsylvania, and has lived in Fredericksburg with his wife Jessica and daughter, since moving to Virginia.   He earned his B.S. in Education from Edinboro University of Pennsylvania, and has recently earned his M.Ed. as master educator from Regent University (Virginia).  Mr. Dinger participated in football, soccer, baseball, and track and Field while attending high school.  He earned All-county honors in soccer, played in a senior All-Star football game, and participated in Track and Field State Championships his junior and senior year of high school.

                                     

 

 

                                     Girls Assistant Coach:  Mr. Marc Romano

Mr Romano has been teaching at Godwin Middle School for 5 years. He has been the assistant boys' track coach since 2002. He currently teaches IBMYP 6th grade science but has also taught IBMYP math at Godwin for three years. Mr. Romano graduated from the University of Tennessee in 2000 with a degree in Aerospace Engineering and with a minor in Computer Information Systems. He received his teaching certificate from George Mason University in the spring of 2003.
